A biochemist and his dishy wife arrive in Berlin for a conference at which a scientist and his controversial Arab funder will announce breakthrough research. While his wife checks into the hotel, he grabs a cab to return to the airport for his briefcase, left at the curb. En route, an auto accident puts him in a coma, from which he awakes four days later without identification and with gaps in his memory. He goes to the hotel: his wife refuses to recognize him and another man has claimed his identity. With help from a nurse, the cab driver, a retired Stasi agent, and an academic friend, he tries to unravel what's going on. Is the answer in the briefcase? Anyone who has watched Liam Neeson's movies have grown accustom to a character that is always thrown into absurd situations but can still somehow use wit, power and skills to get himself out.
Unknown offers the same formula but it still works. This movie caught my attention from the get go.
I enjoy how Liam is believable in these roles and you forget that he's getting up there in age, if anything, he makes it seem like this is what any man his age is capable of. He is awaken from a coma to discover that his identity has been taken by someone else. Worst yet, his wife doesn't seem to recognize him. With the help of the woman that saved his life, in a country that is not his home, Liam seeks about to prove himself. This movie is action packed and keeps you on the edge while you try to figure out what is going on. And I feel the ending does not disappoint. Enjoyable, entertaining, action packed and thrilling!

Director, Jaume Collet-Serra crafts a Hitchcockian style film that mixes stunning action sequences and compelling storytelling into an exhilarating entertainment. The all-star cast also delivers. Liam Neeson is pure undeniable star power, he gives another incredible powerhouse performance. Neeson proves that the older he gets, the more capable he is at playing these intense and fun roles. Diane Kruger is stunning, she gives a strong and capable performance that works. A spectacular movie ride.
