Installation was easy, just plugged it in and it downloaded its own drivers and installed without me having to do anything else. The picture is clear and flattering, and the microphone picks up everything loud and clear. Unlike other webcams I've owned, I don't have a problem with feedback and interference with my speakers, which are positioned nearby.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that I find the range of view too small. It is a good wide picture, however the vertical range is not big enough if you are sitting close to the camera at your computer. Only my head fits into the view, and if I'm sitting with a small child on my lap trying to have a Skype call with relatives, I have to sit much further back to fit my child into the picture as well. Yes it is the Acer Orbicam, sorry about the confusion. It is made by logitech and called the orbicam, but it is integrated into my laptop. Yes it appears in the device manager, and when the said drivers I mentioned are installed it looks to be properly installed. I have used both types of applications, web based using macromedia flash, windows live messenger, and the acer provided software suite.

However one thing I have noticed is that when a program tries to access the camera the device manager acts like the camera is disconnected then reconnected. The software either Windows messenger or macromedia identifies the camera, it just cannot communicate with it for some reason. My acer 9410 gave me fits to get working.
