I'll try and find a manual for a similar machine, do you have a picture of the fascia/controls? The machine is made by Haier, who make machines for many manufacturers. Hi iDan, the installation booklet says it's made by Shunde Midea Dishwasher Mfg Co, don't have a pic of the controls, but they're set along the top edge of the door.

I can understand the on/off switch (!) but haven't a clue whether you can set the clock and if it's a timer switch. There's icons to show pots/plates/glasses etc (push button at the side is presses till it shows on one of the icons) - that bit's self explanatory, but not sure if there's a rinse cycle to wash food off the first lot until you've got enough in there for a full wash. Also, because the controls are where they are (ie hidden when the doors shut), I wont know when it's finished. I know, don't tell me, I'm a thicko!
