Feb 11, 2013. The CCcam.cfg file with the CCcam settings can be edited by FTPing to your DreamBox. The file can be found at the following locations: DreamBox 500 C: /var/etc/CCcam.cfg DreamBox 800 C: /etc/CCcam.cfg. A sample CCcam.cfg config file can be downloaded below: Sample CCcam.cfg.
I have installed in my DM8000 HD PVR the latest CVS image from (image release 3.2.1 from ) and then I installed the GP3 wizard (Gemini version 0.47 r4). After that I installed the custom repositorie so that I can have access to the softcams for Gemini 3. I decided to use the Mgcamd 1.38 (along with the config package) for my box.
I have uploaded my newcamd.list file and everything is ready. The problem is that I don't know how to activate the emu in my Dreambox. As I can see from Blue Panel-->Information-->Installed Camds, the active camd is the 'Common Interface'. In this list I can see the dccamd and also the mgcamd (both deactivated of course). I know that GP3 has removed support for softcams and that there is no option for switching between them via GUI. I have read a method here but it doesn't apply anymore.
To be precise, the bootup file exists in /etc/init.d but there is no such line to change. Also, the 'ipkg purge' command is 'ipkg remove' now.
This is no surprise for me, as these instructions are 3 years old and obviously a lot of code has been changed in CVS images. Is there any newer method to activate mgcamd or cccam? I mean to activate an installed emu via telnet commands or ftp. Thank you for your time. Hello Renard and thank you for your fast reply.
Indeed, by following your advice I managed to activate mgcamd 1.38 and now I am satisfied by the result. If you notice, I have said: 'After that I installed the custom repositories so that I can have access to the softcams for Gemini 3'.
The moderator has removed my reference to onestep, due to policy reasons. I have already installed those feeds. Anyway, thank you again. I have spent many hours trying to find something easy. BTW, do you also have GP3 installed, Renard? Which is your opinion for Gemini 3?
I read everywhere that other images are better for Dreambox HD receivers. I have good memories from DM500S and Gemini Project, that's why I chose it again for my 8000 HD. Do you think I should try Newenigma for example? Thank you, my friend.
